Hollywood headlines: A week in review
Sorry Ryan Gosling fans, it’s again not your year. Singer Adam Levine was chosen for the lofty accolade, and aside from his dashing looks, a deliciously successful career with Maroon 5 and reality competition “The Voice,” there was his graceful response to the news: “I’m not going to comment on anything other than it’s really flattering and I feel lucky.” (Christopher Polk / Getty Images)
This week we touch on Justin Bieber’s $3-million threat, Hugh Jackman’s health scare, Chris Brown’s probation-hearing results and much, much more.

Did anyone else get a deja vu tingle? After checking out of rehab early and attending a probation hearing, the R&B singer is headed back for treatment under stricter orders. Turns out Brown was asked to leave his previous facility after throwing a rock through his mother’s closed car window. That violent toss landed him 90 days of anger management rehab, all of it to be spent on location. (Nick Ut / Associated Press)
Mark the last dregs of Kardashian’s baby-weight insecurity gone. In West’s music video for “Bound 2,” the busty star straddles her beau as they bounce on a motorcycle past various vistas — the rapper’s arm conveniently keeping her assets covered (barely). “I just think Kim is awesome and she just deserved an awesome moment like that,” West said. A death that took Hollywood by surprise is now being questioned. Actress Brittany Murphy’s estranged father suspects foul play, citing a new toxicology report that suggests poisoning. Back in 2009, Murphy was declared to have died from acquired pneumonia and severe anemia. (Gareth Cattermole / Getty Images)

Say anything about the naked girls, strip beer pong or famous attendees and you’ll be fishing $3 million out of your wallet, thanks to a non-disclosure agreement Bieber required guests to sign before entry to his recent fiesta. With the amount of press Bieber already receives focused on his shenanigans, we suppose it’s a good idea that the pop star tries to keep his house-party happenings hush hush. With “Power a Smile,” the popular talk show host hopes to donate up to 1 million batteries to Toys for Tots triggered by the purchase of special Duracell battery packs. “With Christmas, as you get older, it’s about the joy you get from giving and seeing the reaction of the other person,” DeGeneres said. The actor’s donation will go straight to use in Nepal, where park rangers can use the money to protect and nurture local wild tigers. “Time is running out for the world’s remaining 3,200 tigers, largely the result of habitat destruction and escalating illegal poaching,” World Wildlife Fund board member DiCaprio said in a statement. “WWF, the government of Nepal and local communities are on the front lines of this battle, and I am hopeful this grant will help them exceed the goal of doubling the number of these noble creatures in the wild.” (Loic Venance / AFP / Getty Images)
So the rumors are true! “I’m pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :),” Clarkson exclaimed on Twitter. A much different response compared to a recent interview on “The Tonight Show,” when the coy pop star kept her lips tightly shut through heavy questioning about a possible baby. (Though she did reveal they were trying “like rabbits.”) (John Shearer / Associated Press)

Now you can spend a whole day with the star, if you don’t mind hearing his newest single, “Happy,” on repeat. Users with less time on their hands can flip to different hours and see Williams interact with other Hollywood A-listers and performers at a faster rate. (David Buchan / Getty Images)
“Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a [basal] cell carcinoma,” read Jackman’s Instagram caption paired with a picture of his bandaged nose. We’re glad he followed his wife Deborra Furness’ advice, and so was he: “Please don’t be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!” (Kirk McKoy / Los Angeles Times)
