Hell on Wheels As Durant’s (Colm Meaney) plan takes a deadly turn, Cullen’s (Anson Mount) experiment with nitroglycerin has explosive results in this new episode of the frontier-era drama. 9 p.m. AMC
Outlander Claire (Caitriona Balfe) tries to comfort the ailing Alex Randall (Laurence Dobiesz) but is aghast when he reveals the scheme he has concocted to save the mother of his child. Meanwhile, Jamie (Sam Heughan) continues his desperate attempt to steer the Jacobite army away from inevitable slaughter. 9 p.m. Starz
The American West Det. Allan Pinkerton is hired to track down the notorious outlaw Jesse James, while President Grant tries to keep the peace as white settlers mine for gold on lands owned by the Sioux in this new episode of the documentary series. 10 p.m. AMC

The Sting In Chicago of the 1930s, two small-time grifters (Paul Newman, Robert Redford) build a team to bilk a mobster (Robert Shaw) in director George Roy Hill’s 1973 comedy drama. The con-artist theme continues with George C. Scott and Sue Lyon in 1967’s “The Flim Flam Man,” followed by 1938’s “The Young in Heart” with Janet Gaynor and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. 5, 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. TCM
Sicario Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro star in director Denis Villeneuve’s taut 2015 action thriller about a U.S. government task force trying to bring down a drug kingpin in Mexico. 8 p.m. Epix
Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials The screen adaptations of James Dashner’s young-adult novels continue with this 2015 sci-fi thriller, with Dylan O’Brien cast as the leader of the Gladers, who are finally out of the maze. Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Ki Hong Lee, Kaya Scodelario and Patricia Clarkson also return, with Giancarlo Esposito and Lili Taylor among other cast members. 8 p.m. HBO
Center Stage: On Pointe In this new 2016 drama, a patron with deep pockets entrusts Jonathan Reeves (Peter Gallagher) with giving American Ballet Academy an infusion of new energy by combining contemporary dance with classical ballet. Nicole Munoz, Kenny Wormald, Ethan Stieffel and Sascha Radetsky also star. 8 p.m. Lifetime
The Wedding March A former pop star (Jack Wagner) is booked to be a wedding singer at his former college sweetheart’s (Josie Bissett) wedding in this new romantic comedy. Emily Tennant also stars. 9 p.m. Hallmark
The Final Girls An orphaned teenager (Taissa Farmiga) attends a screening of a B-horror movie that her actress-mother (Malin Akerman) starred in 20 years ago, then awakens to find that she and her friends are trapped inside the world of the film itself, where they must apply their knowledge of horror tropes to survive.
