Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency Back in the premiere episode, Todd Brotzman (Elijah Wood) stumbled across his doppelganger in a hotel corridor. In this new episode, Todd and Dirk (Samuel Barnett) have escaped danger by traveling backward in time, where they make a horrifying discovery about the real nature of the case they’re investigating. 9 p.m. BBC America

The Graham Norton Show Tom Hanks, Gemma Arterton, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Olympian Mo Farah are guests in this new episode of the comedy variety series. Olly Murs performs. 10 p.m. BBC America

Pearl Harbor: 75 Years Later This new special revisits the 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, exploring both familiar and lesser-known stories from the day that “lives in infamy.” 9 p.m. History

Pete Holmes: Faces and Sounds The Massachusetts-born comic shares his perspective on some of life’s most absurd moments in a stand-up performance before a live audience at the Vic Theatre in Chicago. 10 p.m. HBO

It’s a Wonderful Life Small-town guy George Bailey (James Stewart) defers one big dream after another to stay home, marry a local girl (Donna Reed) and run the family business in director Frank Capra’s 1946 holiday classic. Henry Travers and Lionel Barrymore also star. 8 p.m. NBC

A Dream of Christmas Call it “It’s a Not So Wonderful Life.” This new holiday fantasy stars Nikki Deloach as an ambitious but unhappily married woman who fantasizes about being single, then awakens to find her wish granted. Andrew Walker also stars. 8 p.m. Hallmark

Heaven Sent A couple (Christian Kane and Marley Shelton) approach the holiday season with dread as their marriage seems to be teetering on the brink of collapse until an 8-year-old runaway angel (Mallory James Mahoney) arrives and tries to reawaken their love for each other. Ernie Hudson and Ryan McPartlin also star in this new TV fantasy. 8 p.m. Lifetime

The Hateful Eight Quentin Tarantino directs this 2015 “revisionist Western” about eight strangers in post-Civil War Wyoming, whose lives intersect at a stagecoach stop when they seek shelter from a blizzard. The cast includes Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Walton Goggins, Tim Roth and Jennifer Jason Leigh. 8 p.m. Showtime

Keanu Fans of the long-running “Key & Peele” show will enjoy this 2016 comedy that casts Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele in dual roles as a pair of ruthless gangsters and their doppelgangers, a not-very-intimidating man and his cousin. Nia Long, Will Forte, Tiffany Haddish and Method Man also star. 8:15 p.m. HBO
