Designers Howard Hawkes and Kevin Kemper of H3K Design raised the base of the 12-foot-deep pool to conserve water and energy. They also added a tanning shelf with holes for umbrellas, and seating. In addition, the pool tile pattern matches the home’s concrete blocks.

As many as 30 people can congregate around the outdoor fire pit. In a practical move, Jackel requested enough space underneath the rim of the firepit for Champagne flutes.
