Coachella festival: A map accompanying an article in the April 14 Section A about security at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival had Monroe Street and Madison Street reversed. Monroe is east of the festival site, and Madison is west of it. A corrected map can be viewed here.
Latino cultural center: A map accompanying an article about the new LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes in the April 11 Calendar mislabeled El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument as El Pueblo de los Angeles State Historic Park and gave incorrect boundaries for the monument. A corrected map can be viewed here.
Tribune bankruptcy: A Business Briefing item in the April 14 Business section reported that U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Carey said potential lawsuits against Tribune Co. Chairman Sam Zell related to the billionaire’s $8.2-billion buyout of the newspaper publisher “have merit.” In fact, the judge declined to address the viability of potential lawsuits against Zell related to the buyout.
Grip devices: A fitness column in the April 11 Health & Wellness section about devices that help improve grip strength listed an incorrect website for the Ivanko Super Gripper. The correct website is https://www.ivankobarbell.com.
Alexander Hamilton: An article about the documentary “Rediscovering Alexander Hamilton” in the April 11 Calendar section said Hamilton managed a shipping business on the Caribbean island of Nevis in his late teens. He managed the business on St. Croix in his early teens.
“Upstairs, Downstairs”: A review of the PBS series “Upstairs, Downstairs” in the April 9 Calendar section said the show is set in the period in which King Edward VII abdicated. It was Edward VIII who abdicated.
