Roger Jongewaard: A news obituary of longtime baseball scout Roger Jongewaard in the June 24 California section reported that he was drafted by the Milwaukee Braves in 1954. Jongewaard did sign with the Braves in 1954, but major league baseball did not have a draft until 1965.
Walter Zable: A news obituary in the June 30 LATExtra section of Walter J. Zable, who founded the San Diego-based technology firm Cubic Corp., identified one of his survivors, Stefanie Zable, as his wife. She was his daughter-in-law.
Museum curator: An article in the June 29 LATExtra section stated that “a New York gallery blog” first reported that Paul Schimmel had been fired as chief curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. The first blog to report the news was the Los Angeles-based Coagula.com.
