Social media video shows dramatic fire fight along the 2 Freeway in Silver Lake

Firefighters have contained a brush fire in the Silver Lake area, but not before a pitched battle on the 2 Freeway and neighborhoods on both sides of the highway.
Firefighters fought the flames from the freeway roadbed and also dropped water on the freeway median from a helicopter after it caught fire.
Firefighters launched a defense in backyards to prevent homes from being damaged.

In the end, about 8 acres of brush burned, and two homes and three sheds were damaged, the LAFD said.
