Los Angeles police Wednesday asked the community for help in identifying the driver of a car that hit and seriously injured a 10-year-old boy, then fled the scene.
The incident happened about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of North Main and Sichel streets, police said.
The victim and a friend were walking in the crosswalk with the signal when a car blew through the intersection and struck the boy, police said.
The driver continued driving southbound on North Main Street.
The boy remains in the hospital in critical condition.
Police released an edited video of the incident -- with moment of impact removed -- in hope that someone will recognize the car.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police at (213) 833-3713 or Det. Felix Padilla at (213) 846-0753.
