DUCKS VS. PITTSBURGH PENGUINS
When: Sunday, 5 p.m.
On the air: TV: Prime; Radio: 830.
Update: The Ducks are coming off a dominating defensive performance against San Jose on Friday, a 1-0 win that could be their new template for victory. Anaheim ranks last in the NHL with 1.93 goals per game after 27 games, so defense remains its foundation in its fifth try at back-to-back wins since it last did it on Nov. 6-7. Goalie John Gibson recorded his second shutout in five starts since his Nov. 24 recall and has a 0.67 goals-against average in his last three games. Gibson, a Pittsburgh product, lost his only appearance against his hometown team in a throwaway 6-4 season-opening loss last season. Penguins defenseman Kris Letang missed Saturday because of an undisclosed injury, but Olli Maatta returned from injury. Southern California’s Beau Bennett played on a line with Sidney Crosby and former Ducks player Chris Kunitz.
