Baseball: Sam Villa throws shutout in Cleveland’s 10-0 win over Granada Hills

Reseda Cleveland got the start it wanted in West Valley League play, completing a sweep of Granada Hills on Friday with a 10-0 win.
Sam Villa threw a three-hitter with five strikeouts. Ben Kaser hit a home run and Alex Zepeda had a three-run double. Anthony Rivera delivered two hits and four RBI in the five-inning mercy rule game.
El Camino Real finished up a sweep of Taft with a 7-4 victory. Jordan Berg threw a complete game. James Terrazas and Jake Selco had two RBI each. Jacob Davies hit a two-run home run for Taft.
Poly picked up a sweep of North Hollywood with a 2-1 win over Huskies in an East Valley League game. Michael Galindo threw a complete game and Matt Machuca drove in the winning run.
Verdugo Hills defeated Monroe, 11-0. Grant Mona had two hits and two RBI, raising his batting average to .517.
