Football: Moorpark, St. Francis brings together old acquaintances
- Share via
Back in the 1990s, when Tim Lins was head coach at Crespi and Jim Bonds was head coach at Alemany, they used to have some splendid coaching matchups.
Lins went on to Moorpark and Bonds to St. Francis. They still have lots of respect for each other and their teams meet on Friday at St. Francis.
Moorpark has used a strong defense and solid running game to open with victories over Quartz Hill and Palos Verdes. St. Francis had eight sacks (revised from originally 11), including four by Sean Davitt, to defeat West Covina in its opener.
Don’t expect Lins to pass too much to give St. Francis a chance to rush all-out.
“They’re big and physical and will try to pound it down our throats,” Bonds said.
