Girls’ volleyball: Crossroads plays for state championship on Saturday

Santa Monica Crossroads is thriving in its underdog role in girls’ volleyball, and the team is one win away from a state Division III championship.
The Roadrunners will play Lafayette Acalanes on Saturday at 1:30 pm. Santiago Canyon College in the Division III final.
Crossroads knocked off Alemany to win the Southern California Regional title. Ivy Bragin has been serving well and Kate Whitney-Schubb, Grace Rose and Soah Franklin have been making major contributions.
Harper Graves had 18 kills against Alemany.
Here’s the complete schedule for this weekend:
Friday
Division V: Reedley Immanuel vs. Oakland Head-Royce, 6:30 p.m.
Division I: Edison vs. Atherton Menlo-Atherton, 4 p.m. (Changed)
Saturday
Division IV: San Diego Point Loma vs. Atherton Menlo, 11 a.m.
Division III: Crossroads vs. Lafayette Acalanes, 1:30 p.m.
Division II: San Diego Cathedral vs. San Jose Valley Christian, 4 p.m.
Open Division: Santa Margarita vs. San Jose Mitty, 6:30 p.m.
