Girls’ volleyball: North Hollywood forfeits match for wearing black uniforms
- Share via
There’s a City Section rule, Bylaw 1305, that requires schools to wear uniforms in official school colors, and North Hollywood’s girls’ volleyball team was forced to forfeit a victory over Arleta on Sept. 29 because the team wore special black uniforms. North Hollywood’s school colors are blue, gray and white.
North Hollywood self-reported the violation, but others are grumbling why adult athletic officials didn’t recognize the violation prior to the players coming onto the court and were held accountable instead of the players.
That forfeit leaves North Hollywood with two losses in the East Valley League, the same as Verdugo Hills, in the battle for first place.
