High school sports participation in California sets another record

For the third consecutive year, high school sports participation in California has set a record, reaching 772,659 athletes based on the CIF Sports Participation Survey from 2015. That’s an increase of 1.01% from the survey in 2014.
Lacrosse saw the largest percentage increase at 4.85% or 735 more particpants (532 for girls, 203 for boys).
Football is the top boys’ sports with 103,725 participants. Track and field tops girls at 45,433 participants.
