Track & Field: Katnik wins shot put at Arcadia Invitational

Matt Katnik of St. John Bosco won the Invitational shot put with a national-leading throw of 71-3 1/2 at the Arcadia Invitational.

The USC-bound senior nearly equaled his own national-leading mark of 68-9 on his first throw and his second try established a new national standard and was just shy of the meet record of 71-4 1/4 set by Brett Noon of Fallbrook in 1990.
