Track: It’s your chance to watch future Olympian Michael Norman on Saturday
- Share via
There’s no guarantee Michael Norman of Vista Murrieta is going to make the U.S. Olympic team this summer, but he’s going to be an Olympian one day, and Saturday is a chance for Southern California fans to get a sneak peek of the best teenage track and field runner in the nation at the Arcadia Invitational.
The USC-bound Norman will run in the 4x100 relay that starts the Saturday night activities at 5:25 p.m. at Arcadia High.
He’ll make his individual appearance in the 400 meters scheduled for 7:08 p.m. He won the state 200 and 400 last year as a junior.
It will be his first major race of the year, and Coach Coley Candaele said, “He’ll race to win.”
That means the faster the competition is, the more he’ll turn on the speed.
