Update: The NHL on Tuesday ended up rescinding Ducks defenseman Luca Sbisa’s game misconduct, which he received for his hit on the Calgary Flames’ Tim Jackman on Monday night. Another unusual development took place: Divisional rival San Jose has loaned goalie Antero Niittymaki to the Ducks’ American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse. The Sharks still pay his salary, but the move helps shore up the Ducks’ goalie situation in Syracuse and gives the veteran a change of scenery. This is the last home game before the Ducks depart on an eight-game trip. They have recorded points in 12 of their last 14 games. Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller has a goals-against average of 1.88 in his last 11 appearances.
