Reds put Homer Bailey on the disabled list

The Cincinnati Reds put Homer Bailey on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right elbow and selected the contract of right-hander Dylan Axelrod from triple-A Louisville.
Axelrod was set Saturday for his first big league start since September but Cincinnati’s game against the Colorado Rockies at Denver was postponed because of a water main break outside Coors Field, where restrooms were not working and there were limited concessions.
The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Sunday.
Cincinnati also transferred first baseman Joey Votto (left knee) to the 60-day DL. He will be eligible to be reinstated Sept. 4.
White Sox put Moises Sierra on DL
The Chicago White Sox put outfielder Moises Sierra on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left oblique.
The White Sox also put right-hander Javy Guerra on the bereavement list.
Sierra left Chicago’s 11-5 victory over Toronto on Friday because of the injury. He is batting .289.
