Major League Baseball denied a protest filed Saturday by the Tampa Bay Rays, stemming from a play disputed by Rays Manager Joe Maddon in a 5-4, 10-inning loss in Toronto. Tampa Bay’s Wil Myers was ruled out on a replay-review reversal of a pickoff, and Maddon had argued that Toronto Manager John Gibbons was late in challenging the call.
