Reporting from Oakmont, Pa. — Dustin Johnson headed into the third round of the U.S. Open on Saturday afternoon as the sole leader after the field completed the weather-delayed second round at Oakmont Country Club.
Johnson, who shot four under par through 36 holes, held a one-stroke lead over qualifier Andrew Landry, who lost a stroke by shooting one-over-par 71.
There were four players tied at two under: Sergio Garcia, Gregory Bourdy, Scott Piercy and Shane Lowry.

None of the top six has won a major championship.

The cut came at six over par, and among those who didn’t advance: No. 3-ranked Rory McIlroy (eight over), No. 5 Rickie Fowler (11 over) and Phil Mickelson (7 over), who remains winless in the U.S. Open in 26 tries.
Bourdy, a Frenchman with four European Tour victories, looked like he might threaten Johnny Miller’s U.S. Open and Oakmont course record of 63.

After a bogey on the first hole, Bourdy made an eagle and five birdies through the 14th hole to put himself at six under. He needed only one more birdie over the last four holes to tie Miller. But he bogeyed the par-three 16th and double-bogeyed the 18th after he chunked a chip shot. He ended with a 67.
The third round was to resumed at 3 p.m. local time, with the golfers playing in threesomes.
