Up next for Ducks: Friday at New Jersey

When: 4 p.m PST.

Where: Prudential Center.

On the air: TV: Prime Ticket. Radio: 830.

Records: Ducks 24-24-9. Devils 32-20-4.

Update: The Ducks stayed active on the trade front. Make that the small-trade front. They swapped minor leaguers with Edmonton on Thursday, sending defenseman Bryan Rodney to the Oilers for center Ryan O’Marra. O’Marra played in 40 games with Oklahoma City, the Oilers’ American Hockey League affiliate, scoring eight goals and 17 points and recording 58 penalty minutes. The surging Ducks are full of startling statistics since Jan. 1. They are 14-3-3 in 2012 and have climbed within six points of a playoff spot heading into Thursday night’s games. On Jan. 5, they were 20 points behind the playoff cutoff. This is the fourth game of an eight-game trip — the longest of the season — and the Ducks are 7-1-3 in their last 11 road games.
