Milwaukee 3, Dodgers 2
AT THE PLATE: Yasiel Puig singled in both of his at-bats, raising his Cactus League average to .452. Puig remains a longshot to break camp with the Dodgers, but Manager Don Mattingly left the door ajar. “It’s not something you’re willing to make a decision on at this point, or talk about,” Mattingly said. “He’s looked really good. There really hasn’t been a negative about him.”
ON THE MOUND: South Korean import Hyun-Jin Ryu gave up three runs and five hits in 4 2/3 innings. Chris Reed, the Dodgers’ top draft pick in 2011, pitched two scoreless relief innings.
EXTRA BASES: Ryu throws left but bats right, when he bats at all. In his first at-bat in eight years — since high school — Ryu took three pitches, all strikes. He said he thought all three pitches were low. In his only other plate appearance, he delivered a sacrifice bunt.
UP NEXT: vs. Cincinnati, 7 PDT on Tuesday at Goodyear Ballpark. On the air: none.
