Caron Butler, who missed the last two games with a strained left elbow, practiced Friday and said he was hopeful that he can play Sunday when the Clippers host the New York Knicks at Staples Center.
“Yeah, that’s what I’m looking forward to,” Butler said after practice. “That’s definitely a strong possibility.”
The Clippers had said Butler would be out a week while recovering from the injury.
If Butler does play Sunday, it will have been 10 days since he was injured against the Detroit Pistons.
The Clippers will practice again Saturday and continue monitoring Butler.
“It’s a lot better,” Butler said. “I’ve got more mobility and full extension. It’s a little sore.”
