College basketball roundup: No. 19 Iowa State falls to Cincinnati in OT

Jacob Evans III made two free throws with 20 seconds left in overtime and Cincinnati upset No. 19 Iowa State, 55-54, on Thursday night at Ames, Iowa. It was the Cyclones’ second loss in a row.
Kyle Washington had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Bearcats (6-1), who end-ed Iowa State’s 37-game nonconference home win streak.
Cincinnati outrebound- ed the Cyclones 46-34. It shot just 35.5% overall, but stifled Iowa State (5-2) down the stretch. Monte Morris scored 15 for the Cyclones.
at No. 8 Gonzaga 97, Mississippi Valley State 63: Josh Perkins and Silas Melson had 15 points apiece as the Bulldogs (7-0) beat the the Delta Devils (0-9). Gonzaga’s nine threes built a 21-point halftime lead.
at No. 20 South Carolina 68, Vermont 50: P.J. Dozier had 21 points and helped the Gamecocks (7-0) to a 13-1 run at the start of the second half. Vermont is 6-3.
No. 24 Florida 91, at North Florida 60: The Gators (7-1) got 16 points and nine assists from Chris Chiozza.

MEN
at UC Santa Barbara 75, Sonoma State 51: Gabe Vincent scored 14 of his 17 points in the first half as the Gauchos (1-5) built a 14-point lead. Vincent finished five for six from three-point range, and Jalen Canty added 12 points for UCSB. Nate Molony-Benjamin scored 10 for Division II’s Seawolves (4-3).
