Profar will not play for the Rangers this season

The Dallas Morning News

SEATTLE Jurickson Profar will not pay in the major leagues this season.

After watching two weeks worth of at-bats in the minor leagues on a rehab assignment that was designed as an attempt to get him ready to help the Rangers down the stretch, team officials decided the injury-prone prospect could not be ready before the end of September.

Instead, Profar, who finished the season at Double-A Frisco, will go Arizona and continue his throwing program and increase baseball activity. He will work with the Rangers’ minor leaguers in the Fall Instructional League with the idea that he would be ready to play without limitations in the Arizona Fall League, which begins in mid-October.
