Statues on USC’s campus are protected during rivalry week

Duct tape appears to be the trend around USC.

Several statues on campus -- including Tommy Trojan and John McKay -- are covered from head to toe.

USC plays UCLA on Saturday at the Rose Bowl.

Rivalry-week pranks, which include painting statues, run rampant between the universities set 13 miles apart.

Tommy Trojan was first painted blue and gold in 1941 and has since been protected during rivalry week, according to USC Athletics.
