Trojans remain No. 8 in AP poll, 10th in coaches’ poll

USC’s season-opening rout of Arkansas did not improve or otherwise affect the Trojans in the polls.
USC, which defeated Arkansas State, 55-6, remained eighth in the Associated Press media poll and 10th in the coaches’ polls released Tuesday.
Ohio State, Alabama, Texas Christian, Baylor and Michigan State are the top five teams in the AP poll.
Ohio State, Alabama, TCU, Baylor and Oregon are the top five in the coaches’ poll.
USC plays Idaho on Saturday at the Coliseum.
The Trojans are a 43-point favorite over the Vandals.
