Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic gives families a chance to save on an active cruise to Alaska’s fjords, glaciers and wilderness areas. With two paying adults, a first child sails for half-price, and a second goes for free.
The deal: Hike in coastal forests and see wildlife such as brown bears, humpback whales, orcas, sea lions, bald eagles and more on the eight-day trip that starts in Juneau and ends in Sitka. Other stops include Icy Strait and the Inian Islands, Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, and bays and fjords in southeast Alaska.
Cabins start at $5,990 each, based on double occupancy, with $2,995 for a first child or grandchild, and free for a second one. Even college kids qualify for the discounts (good for anyone as old as 22).
When: The offer is good on selected sailings between May and September.
Details: Passengers also may qualify for free round-trip airfare between Seattle and Alaska, depending on when you go.
