Ride Icelandic horses, visit an active volcano on this Iceland tour

Get in touch with nature on an early summer horseback tour in Iceland offered by Adventure Women. The excursion takes visitors to scenery that includes the Hekla volcano, which has been active for centuries, and icy mountain glaciers.
Participants will ride 18 to 20 miles per day on Icelandic horses, a breed known for its unusual gait, intelligence and friendly character.
The horses, which were brought to the country by the Vikings more than 1,000 years ago, now number more than 100,000.
Participants will ride alongside a herd of free-running Icelandic horses under the midnight sun on one of the longest days of the year.
