Web Buzz: SportsWhereIAm.com gets tourists into the game

On the road or on vacation? This website will help you find a sporting event at your destination.
Name: SportsWhereIAm.com
What it does: See what your sports options are, based on where and when you’re visiting. Then jump to info on tickets, news, live scores, sports bars, memorabilia and more.
What’s hot: The premise of the site is that you don’t know a city until you’ve seen its sports teams, so go to a game with the locals. I like that you can look at the left-side nav bar for “In Town From” to see what’s available for a future trip. You also can filter your results by sports, teams, venues, events and more. Want to go to a cricket match in Australia? How about seeing a rugby game in South Africa?
What’s not: If the site doesn’t have info for your destination, it defaults to another city. When I looked up Park City, Utah, for a trip I’m taking next month, it defaulted to Toronto. Your best bet is to start your search by using the list of cities it has on offer. Expand the search bar in the “Search by City” section and you’ll see its global list of regions and cities.
