Burbank: JetBlue passengers ride free on Metrolink to and from Bob Hope Airport
- Share via
Here’s a nice freebie to get you to and from Bob Hope Airport (BUR) in Burbank: JetBlue Airways fliers get a free Metrolink ride by showing their boarding pass.
The deal: The free ride is good to or from anywhere Metrolink goes in Southern California -- Lancaster, Oceanside, Oxnard, San Bernardino, Riverside and points in between -- only on the day of the flight. Trains run Mondays through Fridays, with very limited service on weekends (check out train schedules here.)
The Bob Hope Airport Station is within walking distance of the terminal. If you need a lift, you can also take a free shuttle between the train station and the terminal.
When: The offer is good on the day of your flight, through the end of the year.
How it works: To ride free of charge, passengers must print out a JetBlue boarding pass (no cellphone displays are accepted) and show it to staff who check tickets on the train.
While it’s nice to get a free train ride to the airport, that’s not the only savings with this deal.
“You can save money on airport parking because parking is free at Metrolink stations,” Metrolink spokeswoman Sherita Coffelt said. Long-term parking at Bob Hope Airport runs $10 to $21 a day, according to the website.
How much you save, overall, with this deal depends on how far you’re traveling. Metrolink fares vary by route and distance. For instance, the regular one-way fare from Oceanside to Bob Hope Airport is $16.
