The largest trail restoration campaign in Yosemite National Park history has been completed. The six-year effort involved 75 miles of trails, including new rock staircases and stone walls. Major portions of the 12-mile Red Peak Pass, the Sierra’s highest trail at 11,000 feet, were rebuilt . . . . AP reports that Hurricane Irene blew away 20% of Atlantic City casinos’ revenue last month, when the storm forced the city’s 11 casinos to close for three days . . . . Encore’s Society Café, in Las Vegas, is offering a tailgate menu and two-for-one drinks on NFL game days and during happy hour Monday through Friday . . . . An analysis prepared for the NFL Players Assn. says the league supports about 110,000 jobs in NFL cities, including hotel workers and sports-bar owners. Overall, the games add about $5 billion to the broader economy in NFL cities . . . . Half Moon Bay, the self-proclaimed World Pumpkin Capital, celebrates its bountiful fall harvest Oct. 15-16. Pumpkin festivities include parades, pie-eating contests and a haunted barn. Admission is free . . . . Starting Monday, Fontainebleau Miami Beach holds its annual Housekeeping Week to recognize its housekeeping and maintenance departments. A talent show, bed-making challenges and private dinners are on the schedule . . . . Hyatt has announced plans for two new hotels in Vladivostok, Russia . . . .
