THE BEST WAY TO HUNTSVILLE, ALA.

WHAT TO DO
U.S. Space & Rocket Center, 1 Tranquility Base, Huntsville; (800) 637-7223, https://www.rocketcenter.com. Home to one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of space memorabilia and hardware, it also contains space-travel simulators, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center exhibits and Space Camp facilities. Museum admission, including a 3-D or IMAX movie ticket, is $25 for adults; $20 for children ages 6 to 12; free for 5 and under.
Adult Space Academy, (800) 637-7223, https://www.spacecamp.com. This three-day program costs $549 a person, which covers dorm lodging, meals, “astronaut training” activities and a $50 nonrefundable registration fee. This year’s sessions are over. Next year’s sessions will be Aug. 29 and Sept. 5, 12 and 19. Adult Space Academy is one of many Space Camp programs for various ages and groups. Early registration is advised; some dates may sell out months ahead.
