Smoke in Cockpit Forces Plane to Return to Airport

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — A People Express flight from Buffalo, N.Y., to Newark, N.J., returned to the Buffalo airport shortly after takeoff Tuesday because of smoke in the plane’s cockpit, airport officials said. The problem was blamed on a faulty circuit breaker. No injuries were reported.
