Five gunmen stormed into an unlicensed bar in India’s Punjab state and killed 12 people for violating a Sikh extremist ban on drinking, police said. The 12 construction workers slain in the town of Ferozepur boosted to nearly 2,000 the number of people killed by Sikh extremists this year in their bloody campaign to establish an independent Sikh state of “Khalistan” in northern India.
