HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL : City Section Roundup : London’s 3 Scores Spark Monroe’s 56-0 Rout

Senior wide receiver Terry London scored 3 of the 6 times he touched the ball, and Curtis Scott rushed for 174 yards and 2 touchdowns as Monroe routed Birmingham, 56-0, in a Mid-Valley League game Friday at Birmingham.
London scored on a 51-yard run and punt returns of 50 and 42 yards, the third and fourth punts he has returned for touchdowns this season.
Scott, the leading rusher in the Valley area, carried the ball on Monroe’s first 19 plays from scrimmage for 130 yards. He scored twice in the first 7 minutes on runs of 3 and 17 yards.
Monroe led, 35-0, at the end of the third quarter and added 3 touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
Birmingham quarterback Danny Larson, the leading passer among Valley City Section quarterbacks, completed 20 of 39 passes for 178 yards, but the Braves turned the ball over 5 times on fumbles.
