TOURISM/LEISURE TIME : Visitors Helped Fuel O.C.’s Economy With $5.3 Billion They Spent Last Year

Last Saturday marked the end of National Tourism Week--something taken seriously in Orange County, where visitors last year spent $5.3 billion, according to the Anaheim Area Visitor & Convention Bureau.
Moreover, Orange County has 120,000 people employed in the tourism industry, according to the bureau.
To pay its respects to tourism, the bureau has designated May as “Tourism Month” in Orange County. Programs included a workshop on marketing tourism services, and Orange County as a destination for the Japanese.
