Agoura 15, St. Monica 14--Matt Francisco’s two-point conversion run with 13 seconds remaining gave the Chargers the win at Santa Monica City College.
David Caramanis set up Francisco’s heroics by catching a six-yard touchdown pass from Josh Smaler.
Agoura defensive back Sean McGrath began the winning drive, intercepting Casey Sullivan’s pass at Agoura’s 22-yard line. Roughing-the-passer and pass-interference penalties moved the Chargers (8-3) from fourth and 12 on St. Monica’s 37-yard line to first and goal at the one with 42 seconds left.
The Chargers were penalized 10 yards for holding, but another pass-interference call put them on the Mariners’ six.
Smaler completed 12 of 22 for 88 yards. Caramanis, who also ran one yard for a second-quarter touchdown, rushed nine times for 49 yards.
Fullback Adrionne Crawford of St. Monica (8-2) led all rushers with 135 yards--including a 56-yard second-quarter touchdown--in 18 carries.
