England’s Kitty Godfree, a two-time Wimbledon champion, died at 96. As Kitty McKane, she was the only woman to beat American Helen Wills at Wimbledon, winning the 1924 women’s final. Godfree won her second tournament in 1926 and also won mixed doubles titles in 1924 and 1926.
