COUNTYWIDE : Hours Trimmed for Veterans Services

Officials with the Ventura County Veterans Services Office said they have been forced to reduce operating hours because of budget cuts.
Under a revised work schedule that will take effect Tuesday, claims officers will be available to veterans and their families from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.
Additionally, satellite services in Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and Ventura will be discontinued immediately.
Budget cuts that have affected all county departments have necessitated a reduction in staff, said spokesman Jerry Blesener.
