Duarte 36, Whittier Christian 14--Johnnie Shelton rushed for 133 yards and scored two touchdowns in 11 carries for Duarte at Whittier College.

The Falcons took the lead during a 21-point second quarter when Shelton ran 64 yards for the touchdown, making the score 14-6.
Falcon quarterback Greg Ainsworth ran 64 yards for a touchdown and a 21-6 lead, with 6:11 left before the half.
Meschuk scored his second touchdown, capping a 61-yard, nine play-drive, making the score at the half, 21-14.
