COMPTON : 8 Arrested, 20 Questioned in Crackdown on Gangs

In a crackdown Thursday on three rival gangs, Compton police served 17 warrants and arrested eight suspects, including one sought for murder and seven wanted for attempted murder and other violent crimes.
Twenty other gang members were being detained for questioning, said Compton Police Detective Ricky Pettey. Booking information was not immediately released.
Police seized $10,000 worth of rock cocaine, $3,000 in currency, a few bulletproof vests and dozens of weapons, including six assault-type firearms.
