Youth will be the theme of the annual Granada Hills Holiday Parade Sunday, sponsored by the Granada Hills Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s parade will feature Captain Planet of the action series “Captain Planet and the Planeteers,” Kent Shockneck, anchor of KNBC-TV’s news program “First Edition,” Mark Taylor, host on Big Mix 104, K-BIG, and Daffy Duck appearing courtesy of Magic Mountain.
Also featured will be the world’s largest shopping cart.
The parade is meant to be a salute to the community’s youth.
It begins at 3:30 p.m. at Chatsworth Street and Petit Avenue. From there, the parade will proceed along Chatsworth Street to Lindley Avenue. Caroling will begin at 3:30 p.m., and Santa Claus will light what is billed as the San Fernando Valley’s largest living Christmas tree at 5 p.m. The tree will remain lit until New Year’s Day.
