BP to Remain in California: BP Oil Co. has decided not to sell its retail gasoline operations in the state, saying it has not received an acceptable offer. The U.S. unit of British Petroleum Co. announced last year that it intended to withdraw from California by February, 1994, because of low market share. BP will resume contract sales of its branded gasoline to dealers. Existing purchase offers for BP’s dealers to acquire their properties will remain in effect.
