Longtime Moorpark resident Lois Brusven has been appointed to a one-year term on the city’s Senior Center Advisory Board.
The City Council voted 4 to 0 last week to select Brusven, 71, from a field of three applicants. She will join four other board members appointed by the council last year to two-year terms.
“I’m willing to serve,” Brusven, a retired teacher, said Thursday. “I’ve been in the community 33 years and I’ve worked with a lot of different organizations and actually still am, so I know a lot of people and I have a good idea how a board needs to work.”
The five-member committee advises the council on matters concerning the city’s senior center.
