Intensive patrols continued Monday around San Fernando Valley schools terrorized by a child molester as police took one suspect in for questioning and promised to release more details today about another man who remains in custody.
An unidentified man was handcuffed half a block from Van Nuys Elementary School at 9:30 a.m. and questioned at Van Nuys police station before being released several hours later. “We’re stopping anybody who’s wandering around the schools,” said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Ed Brayton.
A molester is believed to be responsible for 32 assaults or attempted attacks on children.
“They have a job to do,” the latest man to be questioned said as he stood handcuffed near the school.
