Music Director Steiner

I read with interest The Times’ article on Lara Webber, the newly selected conductor of the Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra (“Conducting Herself Well,” Jan. 18).
However, in listing the “growing number of women to serve as music directors in Southern California,” I feel there was a significant omission of Frances Steiner, music director of the Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay and professor of music at CSU Dominguez Hills for more than 25 years. She also is music director of the Carson-Dominguez Hills Symphony Orchestra, a combined university and community orchestra.
