Obituary : Rose Marie Gonzalez; Retired Teacher

Rose Marie Gonzalez of Santa Paula, a retired teacher, died at her home Friday. She was 56.
A native of Ventura and lifelong resident of Ventura County, Gonzalez was born June 17, 1940.
Gonzalez graduated from Santa Paula Union High School in 1958. After graduation, she became a preschool teacher with the Santa Paula Unified School District, a position she held for 13 years. She then taught at John Jenkins Christian Academy in Santa Paula before retiring in 1992.
She is survived by her husband, Paul James Gonzalez; a son, David Gonzalez of Santa Paula; two daughters, Gina Vasquez and Eva Villareal, both of Santa Paula; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Gonzalez is also survived by three sisters, Mary Medina of Camarillo, Jolene Jordan of Ventura and Orlinda Piziak of Oxnard.
A wake service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church in Santa Paula. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at the church. Officiating at both services will be Pastor Lydia Taylor and Pastor Jose Vindel.
Burial services will follow at the Santa Paula Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, Santa Paula.
