In a sign of the growing popularity of travel to Eastern Europe, Rail Europe this month began offering a Balkan Flexipass for train travel in Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Greece and Macedonia. The pass, available only in first class, allows unlimited travel for any five, 10 or 15 days within the same month. The price ranges from $152 to $317; lower-price passes are available for those under age 26.
Also within Greece, there are two new Flexipasses. The Rail ‘n Fly ($202) is good for three days of rail plus two air journeys to the islands. The Fly Rail ‘n Drive ($278) is good for three days of rail, two days of air and two days of rental-car use. Information: (800) 438-7245.
