Costly Convenience

I prefer to fly out of Burbank because of the proximity to my home and the ease of parking and walking. However, I am utterly amazed at the price differential the airlines are now charging between Burbank and LAX.
For example, in your Travel Statistics listing of lowest fares (Dec. 7), the added costs from Burbank over LAX were: Atlanta, $412; Boston, $384; Chicago, $170; Denver, $139; Honolulu, $513; Miami, $440; N.Y. $510; Philadelphia, $162; Washington, D.C., $514.
Let’s see: The average ticket to those cities costs $360 more. Didn’t quite realize the extent of the cost of convenience. Grrrrrr!
